Start with the room.

As bedtime approaches, reduce the lights you do not need. Expert guidance recommends lowering evening exposure at least three hours before habitual sleep and keeping the sleep environment dark. Brown et al., 2022 ↗

Choose a comfortable spot.

Our placement suggestion: stand Lolly on a stable, dry floor surface near the area you want to illuminate. Lolly’s translucent shell spreads the glow across a broad, softly rounded surface. Set it near a wall to bring out the room’s textures, or beside a chair to create a warm pool of light close to the floor.

Dial in your evening.

Try a low warm or amber setting, then adjust until you can comfortably see what you are doing. Keep enough task light for reading. The broad diffuser gives the light a soft visual presence, while adjustable brightness lets you move from an everyday glow to a quieter evening setting. Instead of lighting the whole room from above, bring the glow closer to the space you are using.

Make the routine yours.

The companion app concept includes brightness, color, and a sunset schedule. Choose a setting that fits the room and your evening. Sunset and bedtime may be hours apart, so think about both when planning your routine.

When it is time to sleep.

Turn off unnecessary lighting. If you need light to move around safely, use only what you need. The research concerns overall exposure; a warm floor light is still a light source.
