A softer nursery for the smallest hours

A quiet corner, a warm glow, and everything close at hand. Make late-night feeds feel a little gentler—for both of you.

The perfect nursery is one that works at 2 a.m.

In daylight, you notice the colors, the little clothes, and the carefully chosen chair. At night, the best details are simpler: somewhere comfortable to sit, a clear path through the room, and enough light to care for your baby without flooding the space with brightness.

Lolly brings a soft pool of light to that small world. Its translucent shell spreads the glow across a rounded surface, while floor placement keeps the light low and the table beside you free for essentials. Think of it as the finishing touch to your nighttime feeding corner.

Keep the feed calm. Keep the room feeling like night.

The NHS recommends low lights, quiet voices, and little interaction during nighttime care to help babies gradually learn the difference between day and night. Read the NHS guidance.

Choose a warm or amber Lolly setting and lower the brightness until you have comfortable visibility for feeding. Switch off the overhead light when you no longer need it. The aim is less unnecessary light and stimulation, so a feed can stay a quiet moment instead of becoming the start of the day.

For you, too, replacing a bright room with a dimmer local glow can reduce nighttime light exposure. Keep your phone aside where possible and let the room stay simple: your baby, your chair, and the light you actually need. Babies will still wake for feeds; the setting is there to make caring for them gentler.

Build a corner you can use half-awake.

Choose a supportive chair, put feeding supplies within easy reach, and leave a clear route back to the cot. Place Lolly on a stable, dry floor surface beside the chair, outside the walking path. Keep the light and its cable out of your baby’s reach and away from the cot.

Try the setup before bedtime. From your seated position, can you clearly see your baby’s face and what you are doing? Increase the light whenever you need a better view, especially for preparing feeds or checking your baby. A softer room should still be a practical one.

A soft glow, then back to sleep.

Once the feed is finished, turn off light you no longer need. Place your baby on their back in their own clear, flat sleep space, in your room for the first six months. Stay awake during feeds: if you feel drowsy, put your baby safely down. Never fall asleep holding a baby on a sofa or armchair. See the NHS safe-sleep advice.

The most thoughtful nursery does not have to do more. It can simply make the necessary moments feel quieter, warmer, and easier to navigate.
